Lots of inspiration and talent to create great art, as well as determination to learn and improve... or, if you're not personally creating anything, lots of great pictures/sculptures/anything visual to look at, poetry/prose to read and music to listen to. And, you know, anything you might wish for.

May the lives of everyone only become better and happier this year.

I know it's a little late to wish you merry Christmas now. Well, I just hope everybody's having - or had - great holidays. As a belated Christmas gift of sorts, I have a few things to upload, which I'm going to do once I'm done with this journal. I even have a "Merry Christmas" picture, yeah. And now I should probably change the topic already, because I keep repeating the word... uh, no, I'm not going to do it again. Next!

So, how do you like my new journal skin? I made it myself. Pictures and CSS and all. It's nothing special, really, but I wanted to have my own skin at last and I think it looks OK. There is one more thing I could try doing to make it look better (perhaps), but I will try it out next time.
And as for these pictures... Ladies and gentlemen, meet Dr Henry Jekyll (up there) and Mr Edward Hyde (down there) - passed through the meat grinder that is my mind. You see, I've been obsessing over that story - not just the novella or any particular adaptation, mostly the story itself - since last March. And I absolutely had to do something with it. And on one chilly spring day, I had this little idea. Something that, perhaps, I would like to do. At first it was just a vague impression, but soon it was decided. And so...

I'm writing a story

Yes, I am. Wee!
Technically speaking, I haven't written anything yet - or at least anything that counts. But I have the entire plot planned. All of it. I think it's the first time in my life I actually got this far - I have many, many literary ideas, but all of them still have blanks to fill (at best). Some points are still subject to change, but it shouldn't affect the rest. And that means, basically, that I can start writing now. And I will. I've decided to begin on December 31, unless I feel like starting sooner - I should probably write some of my master's thesis first, though. XD I don't know when I'm going to start uploading it - I don't really like to upload parts of something that is not finished, so while I won't actually wait until I've written the whole thing, I probably won't put it up right away, either.

Jekyll | Hyde

...is the title. Yes, with that line in the middle. I'm not sure whether it's a good title, but anything not including the names just didn't feel right, and so as not to repeat any existing title (hopefully?), this was the best I could come up with.
The story itself is basically a modern-day retelling - up to a point, at least. I'm writing it for fun, as a way of "doing something" with all these Jekyll-and-Hyde-related ideas that won't let me go. So while I'm definitely trying to make it as good as possible, my main goal is simply to write what I want to write. I just hope it's not going to suck XD
The story is going to be divided into three parts, and then into chapters. Part I is a loose retelling of Stevenson's novella, and afterwards I just run with it wherever my ideas take me. XD Time: year 2010, place: England - London and some unspecified, probably fictional towns, dramatis personae: alternative versions of characters from the novella and OCs. Action!
